OK everyone, wonder if you can help me, Does decreasing the FOV in a MRI scan help reduce the artifact you can get from a metal implant? Example: If a hip has a pin in it, should you decrease the FOV?

Hello!
Reducing the FOV in an MRI scan to reduce the metal artifact does NOT work on all MRI systems! On the GE, Siemens, Hitachi, Toshiba YES but on the Philips it is possible to separate the FOV changements from the pixelsize so in the last case changing the FOV, the pixelsize stays the same: it has NO effect but if the pixelsize related to the FOV as it is for the other vendors it has effect!
